Can I Join Someone Else's Health Plan

i am hoping to get emancipated and if this happens i will be living with my boyfriends mom. yet since i wont be on my parents health plan any longer i was wondering if it was possible to join my boyfriends moms plan since i will be living under her roof.

if i can somehow arrange this i can pay her weekly for it because it would be cheaper, but if i were to start my own health plan the financial part of it is very iffy because i will be living off of minimum wage.

Health plans vary, but in general, it is unlikely that she'd be able to add you to her plan unless you are a dependent. However, for a young person without pre-existing conditions, underwritten policies (individual) can cost less than dependent coverage on a group plan. Of course, if she is already covering your boyfriend and you are thinking that you can get added free as if you were another dependent, that's not going to happen unless she adopted you.
