When I received the check from the vehicle owner's insurance company, I contacted them regarding it. The response was that the vehicle owner had medical coverage on the vehicle and they paid under that coverage regardless of any other coverage/payment I may have received.



I never filed any claim to receive the payment, the vehicle owner filed a claim for the damage to the vehicle. The check from the automobile policy came as a complete surprise.
